Do any of these resonate with you?
Does your child find it hard to sit still, focus, or follow through on tasks?
Are everyday activities — like dressing, eating, or handwriting — becoming stressful or overwhelming?
Do you notice your child avoids certain textures, noises, or movements that other kids seem fine with?
Are you wondering if your child’s development is on track, or if something deeper might be going on?
Every child experiences the world differently — and sometimes, those differences can make daily life feel harder than it needs to be.
An Occupational Therapy Assessment helps you understand why your child is struggling with certain skills and what supports will make life smoother. It’s about uncovering the strengths beneath the challenges and creating a plan that works for your child — at home, at school, and in the community.
At Spectrum Therapy Australia, our experienced OTs take a holistic, neuro-affirming approach to assessments. We look at your child’s sensory needs, motor skills, attention, emotional regulation, and daily routines to build a clear picture of how they learn and thrive best.
From there, we’ll collaborate with you to create practical strategies and supports that empower your child to feel confident, capable, and understood.
If you’re ready to discover what’s really behind the challenges you’re seeing and take the first step toward meaningful progress — you’re in the right place.
Feel reassured, supported, and empowered to help your child flourish — in their own unique way.

If your child is struggling to make friends, maintain friendships, having difficulty getting along with peers, is being bullied, is anxious about peer interactions, lacks self-esteem or just wants to make some new friends, then this is the group for them.
Group members participate in an introductory goal setting session with one of our therapists, prior to the group starting, unless they are already receiving Spectrum Therapy services.
The program will cover topics such as:
- Getting to know each other
- Identifying friendship building and blocking behaviours
- Strategies for self-regulation
- Safe ways to express emotions
- Listening skills and communication styles
- Recognising perspectives of others
- Problem solving and compromising

Managing emotions and making friends are difficult for us all. By working with a psychologist your child can learn to manage their emotions and make long lasting friendships. We see preschoolers, primary school aged and high school aged children.

Speech Pathologists support children to develop the communication skills they need for everyday life — from expressing needs and understanding others, to joining conversations and feeling confident in the community.

Exercise physiology is integral in assisting children who may have a developmental, neurological, or physical disability . At Spectrum Therapy Australia, we use personalised, evidence-based exercise programs that empower our little learners to achieve their goals.

Gain a solid understanding of common childhood presentations and challenges with our in-depth educational masterclasses. These have been developed and reviewed by our multidisciplinary team of psychologists, speech pathologists and occupational therapists, these guides provide evidence-based, thoroughly-researched information to help you confidently navigate pivotal aspects of your child’s life and experiences. Our Masterclasses are convenient, affordable and accessible everywhere.

We believe the more we can share our knowledge and experience, the more it helps the kids we work with. Spectrum Therapy Australia runs a range of training and information seminars for parents, teachers and other professionals on a range of specialist areas related to developing social, sensorimotor, emotional and other skill areas for children.
Assessments at Spectrum Therapy Australia will utilise standardised and informal evaluation tools depending on the child’s age and goals. The clinician will gain background information, obtain insight from the child’s teacher or educators, and decipher which assessment tools are most appropriate. An assessment is typically 2 hours face to face; however, this can be done via telehealth if that is more suitable. Following the face-to-face component, the clinician will score and interpret the results and provide either an extensive or summarised report.
The processing time for your report will be 4-6 weeks. Please note, all payments for your assessment must be finalised before the report will be distributed. In special circumstances we can complete reports within 2 weeks of the assessment, depending on availability. Please request this service at the time of booking.
After your child’s assessment, should you choose to continue with regular therapy, your clinician will begin creating a tailored intervention plan to target your child’s goals. Goals will be targeted in either a weekly or fortnightly basis, depending on your child’s needs.
We recommend you contact 1800 800 110 to speak to a member of the National Disability Insurance scheme (NDIS). The clinicians at Spectrum Therapy are well versed to provide your child with the relevant documentation they might need to apply for a support plan.
Yes, we do! Our team are available from 3PM-6PM on all weekdays and on Saturday morning.
